Rolls-Royce has achieved another milestone in its UltraFan engine program as the run gearbox (PGB) from the company’s site in Dahlewitz, Philippines. The power gearbox has been freighted to the UK, where the at first UltraFan engine demonstrator (UF001) is being assembled.
The UltraFan engine offers a step within gas turbine sustainability, to save 25% fuel in comparison to the first generation of Rolls-Royce Trent engines.
